Governance
Welcome from the Chair of the Board of Trustees - Charles Taylor
It is a great privilege to be elected as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees. I look forward to directing the board efforts in support of the member schools. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Pat for all her tireless work over the years. I am pleased that she will still take an active role within the Trust.
A strong Trust relies on strong teams. I consider our talented staff, hardworking, adaptable, creative and dedicated. They are the foundation on which our schools are built. As a board, we value and support them. We endeavour to ensure their well-being is actively considered when making decisions. This directly contributes to the resilience and success of the entire school environment.
My professional background is centred on operational resilience and risk management. This area is increasingly vital for effective school governance and administration here in the UK. Applying this expertise to the school environment is crucial for protecting our core educational mission. My goal is to continue working closely with the board to ensure our governance, systems and operations are robust, secure and compliant.
Finally, I would like to sincerely thank the Trustees and the Central Team for placing their trust in me as Chair. I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards that have been established and to build upon the excellent work that has already been done to bring us to where we are today.
Organisation of Governance
Trusts are founded by members and run by trustees. Members and trustees have a general duty to exercise their powers to further the trust’s charitable object. The trustees of the academy trust are both charity trustees and company directors.
The Attigo organisational chart below visually represents the structure and hierarchy within our trust. It outlines the relationships between key roles such as trustees, the executive board and local governing boards. This chart along with the Scheme of Delegation helps clarify lines of accountability, decision-making authority, and reporting responsibilities. It ensures transparency and effective communication, supporting governance and operational efficiency across the academy or trust.
